Accredited Continuing Education Units provided for Educational and Healthcare SLPs
Professional development trainings approved by the Texas Speech-Language Hearing Association will be conducted on a quarterly basis for Speech-Language Pathologists. These continuing education courses will increase the knowledge and expertise of SLPs who serve the pediatric population from both the medical and education models.
Advocacy and Involvement
Offering trainings to educational advocates who desire to support parents that have children with special needs or disabilities. Special Education Advocates are trained to serve as a representative during meetings such as Parent/Teacher Conference, Student Study Team (SST), ARD meetings, and etc by asking appropriate questions, requesting needed modifications, and assisting the parent with their rights in regards to the academic success of the individual child.
